The Bukit Panjang Station is located at the intersection of Bukit Timah Road and Bukit Panjang Road, between the park connector over an existing canal to the east and Bukit Panjang LRT viaduct to the west. It is the western terminus station for the Downtown line and connects to the Bukit Panjang LRT line via an outdoor linkway.

The station entrance is designed as a pavilion along the park connector, with a horizontal roof that lifts up and opens toward the park connector, relating to the waterfront. Patterned vertical screens were conceived as water stimulated by the flow of passengers through the station, with the variation in blue colour creating ripples in the screen. This screen is continued in front of the vent shafts, concealing them from the public and creating a cohesive streetscape. The vertical screens continue into the concourse walls, forming an identity marker for the station.

In the future, it is to be integrated with the Bukit Panjang Bus Terminus, bringing together 3 modes of transportation in a Transit Oriented Development, with Hillion Mall, Junction 10 and Bukit Panjang Plaza adjacent to the station.
