Senior Director of SAA Architects, Tony Ang, has been appointed to serve as a Board Member of two statutory authorities under Singapore's Ministry of National Development.

Tony was reappointed as a Board Member of Singapore's Board of Architects (BOA). Having served for multiple terms since 2010, he will continue to champion the interests of the professional body with government agencies and advocate sustainability within the profession. His current term ends in 2027. The 16-member board serves as the governing body for the Architects Act, providing for the registration of architects and the regulation of architecture practices and services.

In addition, Tony has been appointed as a Board Member of Singapore's Professional Engineers Board (PEB) and will commence his two-year term from 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2026. The PEB is a statutory board established under the Professional Engineers Act to set and maintain high standards for registering professional engineers, and to regulate and advance the practice of professional engineering.

Tony remarks, “It is a privilege to contribute to the fields of architecture and engineering. I look forward to working alongside my fellow board members to reinforce the rigorous standards and advance the professional practices and community.”

With over 40 years of diverse professional experience, Tony works with the SAA leadership to drive business development within the practice. He also plays an active role in mentoring young leaders and architects within SAA and the SJ Group.
