Sengkang Grand Residences wins Edgeprop Excellence Award

Sengkang Grand Residences has been recognised at this year's prestigious Edgeprop Excellence Awards for Sustainability Excellence in the mixed-use category.

A project delivered by SAA in collaboration with MKPL Architects, the condominium features nine residential blocks stacked atop the Sengkang Grand Shopping Mall. It is seamlessly integrated with a community club, hawker centre and transport hub.

With a linear park, teepee gardening area, sensory club, and treetop walk within the development, Sengkang Grand Residences stands out for its thoughtful incorporation of greenery into living spaces. This design promotes an appreciation for nature and sustainable practices for residents.

To maximise energy efficiency, the residential blocks are coated with high-performance glazing to reduce solar heat gain and are strategically oriented to optimise access to natural light and ventilation. A unique siphonic rainwater discharge system on the rooftops of the blocks collects rainwater for residents' use, while regenerative drives in the building lifts allow for energy to be reused within the building's power grid.

Previously, Sengkang Grand had won Innovation Excellence and Top Development awards at the 2020 Edgeprop Excellence Awards, and also achieved a Green Mark Gold Plus rating from the Building and Construction Authority for its sustainable features.
