SAA Builds Our Common Good Edible Pavilion for Archifest 2022
16 September 2022
Over a few days, a group from SAA dug our hands into the earth, felt the soil through our fingers, and became farmers to build our Edible Pavilion. Ours is one of seven pavilions, each built based on the Singapore Institute of Architects’ Archifest 2022 theme to make "our city and communities loveable”.
Interlocking drainage sheets were repurposed, assembled and transformed into planting bed modules for a stacked edible garden structure at URA Centre. The Edible Pavilion will be located on site until 30 September 2022, before the planting modules are taken down for adoption for a new lease of life in offices and homes of their new owners.
Our Edible Pavilion is a collaborative effort by SAA Architects, Surbana Jurong, SUTD Social Urban Lab, Ground-Up Initiative (GUI), B+H Architects, KTP Consultants, Sunray Woodcraft Construction and Elmich.
