Penang Marriott Complex officially opens

The grand opening ceremony for Penang Marriott Complex in Malaysia was held on 8 September 2024, making it the first development in the country to house three Marriott brands under one roof.  

Designed by SAA Architects and located along the prime address of Gurney Drive, the project towers at 55 storeys and comprises three components launched in different phases: the 223-room Penang Marriott Hotel, the Marriott Executive Apartments with 90 suites, and Marriott Residences Penang with 302 units. The development is Marriott International’s 50th property in the country.  

Boasting a list of curated lifestyle and wellness offerings, along with spectacular views of the city and Andaman Sea, the complex is positioned as a pivotal development to draw more visitors from all over the world and enrich their experience of Malaysia. The development offers visitors a unique experience by bringing modern hospitality and luxurious experiences to Penang’s nostalgic and culturally vibrant charm.   

The iconic complex is set to further elevate Penang’s status as a lively destination and hub for tourists and business travellers, boosting the country's tourism and economy.
