Ooi Wei Yap elected as Chapter Councillor to AIA International Chapter

We are pleased to announce that one of our directors, Ooi Wei Yap, has been elected as Chapter Councillor to the Australian Institute of Architects (AIA) International Chapter, for a two-year term.

Wei Yap is a Design Director at SAA Architects. Based in SAA’s Singapore office, he manages SAA and several of the Surbana Jurong Group’s architectural design teams in the region.

Wei Yap, along with 48 other Councillors, will represent and make decisions on behalf of over 13,000 global members belonging to the main advocacy group for Australian architecture — all committed to raising design standards and positively shaping the places to live, work, and play in.

Having now returned to Singapore after working in Australia for 25 years, Wei Yap intends to continue advocating for Australian architects and architecture. His role as Councillor will allow him to foster stronger links between designers and design practices in Singapore, Australia, and the APAC region, facilitating a mutual exchange of ideas and knowledge.
