Michael Leong speaks at Knight Frank seminar about optimising real estate
5 October 2023
Unlocking the true potential and value of our real estate projects requires more than just a multi-disciplinary approach or in-depth knowledge of regulations and planning parameters. It demands a holistic and thoughtful design perspective that transcends economic considerations.
SAA’s Deputy CEO Michael Leong shared these insights at a client engagement seminar organised by global real estate consultancy Knight Frank on 4 October 2023. The seminar, titled ’Enhancing Value, Reducing Risks – Optimising Real Estate Developments in Singapore’, explored the key factors that could influence a development’s success.
While value in real estate in land-scarce Singapore is traditionally driven by pricing mechanisms and regulatory controls, Michael noted that true value goes beyond the material. He highlighted how SAA’s design methodology has served as a framework that builds on a range of strategies to enhance value.
“A well-designed environment has the power to create and nurture healthy communities, which in turn become the most compelling testament to the true value of the land,“ he added.
Michael was joined by Colin Kin (Managing Director, Rider Levett Bucknall) and Lee Liat Yeang (Senior Partner, Dentons Rodyk) in a session moderated by Knight Frank Singapore’s Head of Consultancy, Alice Tan. Some 100 guests tuned in to the insightful discourse at Knight Frank’s Singapore office.
