Located at the southern end of the Hainan Bo’ao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone, at the mouth of the Wanquan River, the project forms the gateway into the Pilot Zone. Long-term rental apartments, retail, F&B and event spaces, together with green spaces that connect occupants with nature, aim to make the development a destination for the region, serving small- to medium-sized incubation, growth and industrialisation enterprises in the healthcare sector.
The development consists of four blocks of seven-storey mid- to large-sized medical offices that cater to a wide range of medical needs – from pharmaceutical research to specialist clinics. The two larger blocks have double service-cores, allowing for flexibility in occupant mixes and office sizes. The smaller blocks have their single cores close to the inner courtyard of the development to maximise views out to the waterfront and green belt. All four blocks are connected via lush landscaped corridors to the second floor central canteen overlooking the waterfront. The open canteen concept supports work discussions, with zones designated for roadshow events and seminars.
This north-south orientation of the blocks creates a strong central axis down the middle of the site, culminating in a seven-storey employee-housing apartment block and a three-storey exhibition hall on Kangxiang Road. The exhibition hall, containing a visitors’ centre, publishing centre, conference hall and administrative offices, welcomes visitors with a grand entrance – marking the gateway into the Pilot Zone.
Programme at ground level include food and beverage, and retail service, forming two rows of commercial streets down the site’s axis, featuring a sunken courtyard in the centre at basement level. Seats step up to the ground level around a grand event space that is visible from every block in the development, allowing events in this courtyard to activate the entire site.
