If there is anything positive to be gained from the global pandemic that has brought about a new epoch in our urban society, is that it has been a litmus test for urban designs that were previously implemented to mitigate the very challenges of the malady we face today.

In the ongoing wake of the virus that has begun to shape societal fabric of what ‘normal’ urban living entails, we are able to look at urban planning solutions such as the Jurong Lake District master plan and affirm the validity of its principles for the creation of Singapore’s second CBD.
